I want to express my gratitude for your support of Unique Balance. Your health and happiness is incredibly important to me.

Unique Balance has been going for over 12 years and I absolutely love my career choice.  There is a saying which I love “Find a job that you love doing, and you’ll never have to work another day in your life”. Well, I personally know this to be true. I have truly found my passion in helping and serving my clients of which I am so very grateful to each and every one of you.

It’s been a while since I have been active in the News department and I am committed to communicating more this year… especially since I have so many exciting things to let you all know about.

The Start of a Healthy Journey
January is often the time we sit back and reflect upon the past year. Health and wellbeing is often at the top of everyone’s list to improve upon. However, for me, it’s my best time to process my vision forward of what I want to make happen.  This year I am adding more to my service menu so that I can offer all of my therapy modalities to you and your dog ! Yes, your Dog can also benefit from massage therapy and I’m so happy to finally be able to offer this.

If you havn’t heard me chat about all things Fascia, then I havn’t been doing my job. Fascia has become a buzz word in the world of Bodywork. Fascia is constantly gaining attention as researchers dive more into learning about Fascia’s qualities within the human body. We are now finding that there is a lot more going on than first thought.  There are links between lifestyle and health that can affect the role fascia plays in our body as well.

Remedial Massage/Bodywork & Movement
I quite often get asked what type of massage I do. I have been lucky to have some of the world’s best teachers and have done a lot of training for Structural Integration and Myofascial Release.  Both of these significantly can improve the human form and function.  I adapt the bodywork to suit the client. The treatment session can be made up of different types of massage/bodywork and movement as I strive to work out the causation of ‘issues within the tissues’.  As many of you will know, sometimes it is like peeling layers of an onion, with each layer revealing a different issue. I have found over the years that fascial restrictions and dehydration of the tissue are mostly what is causing problems and therefore pain, discomfort and biomechanical inadequacy. Massage plays a small part in assisting the regeneration of these restrictions. Client education and correct posture/movement forms the remaining part.  This is why I am constantly talking about releasing the adhesions and restrictions first, so that we can get on with it.

I am now officially certified as Functional Patterns HF Practitioner!! This is the most exciting news of all. It means that I can officially start training you NOW. Functional Patterns (FP)  is the best in the fitness industry. The successful results worldwide are astonishing. The greatest health crisis we face as a species, is the imbalances that exist within our modern society and our misalignment with nature. This has had a substantial impact on our movement capabilities as we’ve shifted our daily practices from their roots in natural processes towards sociocultural processes.

Our adaptability to the natural environment determines our health.  The better we are with nature, the longer and stronger we live. For humans, this means bringing us back to the beneficial aspects of our evolutionary blueprint that made us healthy to begin with.

Functional Patterns is a unique functional training system that prioritises biomechanics and natural movement patterns to eliminate chronic pain. FP focuses on a human’s most basic and fundamental functions; their ability to stand, walk, run and throw. FP exercises mimic real life movements and the interconnectedness of the body’s different systems.

By prioritising and integrating these functions into training, FP certified trainers can help you eliminate pain and improve your overall quality of life.

Because of the new direction I am taking with FP, Pilates and Slings Myofascial Training are no longer offered as movement therapies by Unique Balance.

For those of you who are serious and committed to your personal health status, you can now purchase session packs for both Remedial Massage and/or Functional Patterns training (both 60 min sessions). These are available here or book via the website.  10 Session Packs not only provide a cost saving of $250, but are a great way to empower you to focus on addressing specific issues.

Massage Pricing Update

45 minutes $125

60 minutes $150

For all other pricing, see service menu

For all online bookings, a deposit is required to secure you place. You can still text me to book direct.  I have done this because 2023 had many people not showing up for their appointment and this can hurt small business.

You could, yes, although this would require two services to be used here. What you can do is create one service that is the full price of the session pack and have clients book and pay for this service initially, then you would just need to amend that first invoice to add a new session pack on the same invoice (so you won't need to move the payment). From here, you would need a second service that is free so that clients can book their subsequent sessions without having to pay again, and then the session pack created on that first invoice can be added to these invoices as well after they've been booked.
